Limewire Shutdown

1 Attachment(s)
When I start Limewire, it's started crashing everytime. This will happen anywhere between as soon as it starts loading to having been on the welcome page for 5 seconds.
There is no error message or crash report window afterwards, nothing. It doesn't get minimized to the system tray or anything, and it's not still running in the processes tab of the task manager.

A couple of weeks before this started happening, I made several changes to the system registry (regedit.exe), but like I said, it was a good couple of weeks before this started happening. Even so, I still reverted all the changes I made to the registry, but no luck.

I've tried uninstall and reinstalling it, with the latest available version (I'm using Basic. 4.12.6). I've done the same with Java, and still no luck.

I done scans with Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D and VET Antivirus, all updated, and it all came up clean (aside from a few cookies of course.)

One thing I have noticed is that, after I uninstall Limewire, the folder still remains in the Programs Folder. In here there are some .txt's, the same amount of .txt's as I've tried to boot Limewire. Looks to me like an error log, and seems safe enough, so I've attached it (hs_err_pid4016.txt).

Any ideas? Getting somewhat annoyed here >=(

JavaThread "DestroyJavaVM" sounds odd to me. I did also notice references to different versions of Java in your report.

Download & run http://www.ccleaner.com/ to clean your registry.

Go to your add/remove control panel & remove "all" versions & reinstall Java 1.5 using the "Offline" installer.

Try step 2, 3 & 5 here Fixes for Limewire

Just in case, register at Norbie's forum & follow norbie's instructions: NorbiesWorld (click on link)

I've the odd suspicion you may have picked up something off the net. Norbie will know for sure.
