removed lw and still have it try to load

I am having the same problem as posted in the thread by kimh (https://www.gnutellaforums.com/general-windows-support/63643-removed-lw-but-still-get-popup.html) yet with regards to Sleepless' post on how to fix the problem, I cannot use that particular links instructions because due to the popup window I cannot open any other desktop icon, including IE or the control panel. I removed lw the same way it says to on the link by using the lw uninstall from the start menu, but it kept trying to load every subswquent time I turned it on. Please help, as I would appreciate any ideas on how to fix the problem. Thank you.

Do as garbagefan2 had suggested and get yourself registered at NorbiesWorld (click on link) and follow the instructions and Norbie will talk you through the steps to get rid of the virus.
