Error 37- A bad filename or volume name has been encountered ? Its happened to like, 90% of the videos I've tried to download |
That seem to be an error with Quick Time player and .mov files. This site suggests that it has something to do with the length of the file name. Something that is specific to QT Player: http://www.nomoa.com/?module=article...w&catid=8%2B11. Try using a different media player. VLC Media Player is highly recommended and will play .mov files. Mov files aren't generally recommended as they are mostly spam/porn and are best avoided. This thread has some more info: mov files . I stick to avi, mpeg/mpg for video. Check video files with Bitzi Web Lookup before downloading to see if anyone has rated it. If it's not rated thats a pretty good indication that it's not a good file. THanks, I figured it had something to do with quicktime. I think I set it as the default video playing hardware. How do I change the default? |
Right click on a file (opened outside of LW, in windows). Click on properties, and where it says "Opens With", click on "Change" and pick the media player you want. More info here: How to set the Default video application |
