![]() During an avi download I tried to preview and got this message. "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. One or more codecs required to play the file could not be found." How do I establish the required codec and where from? Thanks |

![]() You could try to use a different media player such as the free VLC player with built-in codecs which can play almost all media files without problems. You can download it from here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ As a side note, to preview files with it you'll have to open the files directly from the Incomplete folder and not via the LW preview function. Otherwise you could google for the K-Lite Codecs Package and install that. Though I personally recommend the VLC player, since I think the WMP is crap.... ![]()

![]() Thanks for your reply...I shall give that a try, but you say... "you'll have to open the files directly from the Incomplete folder" but I don,t know where the incomplete files are kept. In LW options it states that incomplete files are stored on my desktop but as I am currently downloading one there is no file on my desktop to check. Am I missing something??? |
