Default LimeWire Freezing

I was wondering if someone could help me with this. I stopped using Limewire a while ago because it wouldnt load up anymore. I tried all the obvious fixes such as re-installing, waiting for a new version, checking for updates, and other things like that but it still did not work. So it seemed like less trouble at the time to just use other programs. But after ive used most of them and found that they all suck compared to limewire, I need some help. I just downloaded the newest version and installed and am having the same problem. It loads, but as soon as the GUI pops on screen, it freezes up and doesnt do anything. Anyone run into this before?

Please give us your system details as listed here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=62652 Ram OS and Disk space are essential.

Updating your Java might be the problem and you should take a look at this http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=36420 but if you have tried other Java based applications, this is not so likely to be the problem

Update your Java (point 1 below). Use the offline JRE installer & remove your old version before installing the new one.
Fixes for LimeWire

Delete LW's preferences folder (points 2 & 3 above). Make sure LW's properly closed first.

Try changing compatibility (point 5 above).

Also, these might help

click LW icon & it begins to initialize but then stops and nothing happens

Uninstall Limewire, then go to Start>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs look for Java uninstall all versions of Java. Then click on the java button by my sig and get Java use the offline installer. Install Java then install LimeWire and see if that clears the problem up.
