Download Problem

When I start up lw it works fine, later the text disappears and nothing bar shutting down fixes

Do you mean that you get a blank screen? How quickly does the text disappear? Is it on any particular page of LW? Is it while you're downloading, or just random?

Try updating your Java. Use the JRE offline installer below. Remove your current Java version before you install the new one

the text in the lw window disappears after say 1/2hr of downloading. I can max and min the screen but get no text. Then cannot shut down limewire even using task manager as it will not show up.Have been downloading movies for the first time when problem occured, no problems previously

Update your Java & also delete LW's preferences folder when LW's closed. Points 2 & 3 below have instructions

This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through & reset things afterwards.

How many files are you downloading at once? If it's lots, limit it to just 1 or 2.
Try decreasing your upload & download bandwidth a bit, too.
Try changing skins.

Otherwise, answer the questions that Grandpa asks below...that info might help someone (not me) to find out what's going on.
