can't play wma downloaded songs

i downloaded a song (**** **** ******). it was a wma file. when i want to play it windows media player opens and i get an aquiring license message asking me to accept some mirar adware thing. after downloading this i still cannot play the song and this mirar is nothing but a web browser that sucks and is full of spyware stuff. i cannot play any wma file but mp3 plays fine . i need to be able to play wma. it took a long time to uninstall the mirar but my wife finally was able to do it. i have reel player but this does not work either. please help!!!

What you should know about WMA files

If I were you, I would add .wma to your LW filtering list. That's what I did!

Hi Jo.
Again! Beware of new wma files, ones you D/L, If you must D/L them,
Check them before opening them with Anti Virus Program,Spybot or whatever
If you have many good wma files VLC media player will play wma and most others inc.video files.It has the codec's built in and its Free.
Disable WMP and make VLC your defult player. Here's a link to VLC, choose nearest mirror site to you for D/L
