![]() A few weeks back I tried running limewire (which up to this point worked fine), and recieved an error message regarding invalid/corrupted files. It suggested reinstalling the program, so I uninstalled Java and Limewire and then re-downloaded them. When I tried to run Limewire I recieved the same error message. I don't know if it helps but the following is an excerpt from the message that I thought might be useful. java.lang.RuntimeException: java.io.IOException: settings dir not writable |

![]() Try the fixes in this thread and make sure you use the offline installers for Java and limewire... Unistall old version of Java first and then re-install the offline version... Then delete your preference folder and then re-install LW using the offline version...Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should
