Default Just one more confused customer

Ok, so I have Limewire basic, and a windows firewall (disabled), and I am running on a server offered through a school system. My mother is the system admin, so I know that this connection has rights of access to the needed IP that has no extra firewall protection. Once again, my windows firewall is disabled, yet LW seems to be behind a firewall...I just downloaded Firefox, could this be the reason for all the unhappiness, or is LW just having an off day?

Many schools block p2p usage...If you where set up in your home we would ask for your modem/router make and model and give you instructions on how to Port Forward, or ask who your ISP is and see if they shape p2p....
There's not alot we can help you with when it comes to a school blocking ports...

Default grrr...

Though I would love the issue to be that simple, it isn't. p2p isn't blocked or restricted on the server, I know this because I have accessed LW many times before via this server and IP address. The problem is not with this server, I think there may be a hidden firewall (i.e. spyware or some equivalent) blocking access from certain programs. I suppose my question is, has there ever been an issue like this before, and if so, how do I correct it.

Well everything their looks fine except you could try updating Java, using the offline installer...
Try these fixes and see if that helps....

As I said before if you had a firewall blocking LW and all yours where configured, I would ask you to Port Forward as it's usually a case of the built in NAT firewall in the modem/router...
