![]() I am sooo sowwie. Sorry about the bad English Grammar in the thread title. OK....L/W WAS working perfectly...really fast and searhes were fast too. Always had 5 bars showing green. Turned it on last night....All 5 bars RED. Disconnected ZONE ALARM.(STILL 5 bars RED) Unistalled ZONE ALARM used WINDOWS FIREWALL (STILL 5 Bars RED) Restarted PC & turned OFF windows firewall (STILL 5 Bars RED) Turned OFF McAfee antivirus (well it might help) (Still 5 Bars RED) I get a message from L/W:- L/W is Currently connecting to the network....BLAH BLAH Funny things is???? It was working brillantly Running winxp home Windows firewall 20gb free disk space 240mb of ram 4 mbps of broadband modem speedtouch 330 (mcp0631atjgd model number ) connecting from house NO other pc involved (just the one=mine) test page .......WORKED using 4.12 limwe wire and current java (recommended by this forum) I dont get a brick wall, just L/W telling me its trying to connect I've defrag Spybot & done ad aware Jusatan after thought here......... shut down the pc last night I did this 3 times after the 3rd time L/W started to give me 4 green bars???? |

Norton Internet Security 2009. windows firewall also - but not on 3. 1983 MB ram 4. i think hard disk space is available.. 5. broadband 6. router is linksys 7. trying to connect from house 8. I have limewire version 4.18.8 and the newest java 9. i dont know who my ISP is 10. Do this simple test for us. What happens when you go there? - my test worked 11. yes. i am sharing internet connection with another pc and another laptop in the house. (wireless internet) 12. a new problem. i've been using limewire for atleast 2 years 13. yes, there is a brick wall 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? - i dont know wha this means 15. i have norton internet security 2009 and webroot spy sweeper 16. Canada 17. just recently downloaded the new java in hopes it would help pleeease help me! i only get one green bar. |

Windows XP Pro 2002, Service PK 3 3. How much ram? 256MB 4. Hard Disk space available? 75GB with 38GB Free 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)Verizon FIOS 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Verizon M1424WR 7. Where are you trying to connect from - Home 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? 4.18.8 PRO 9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Verizon FIOS 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? "It Works" 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? No 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. New 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? YES 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? Don't got a router 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Symantec Antivirus 8.1.0.82516. What country are you living in? USA HELP!!!!! It worked a few months ago with just the basic version. I payed for a whole year subscription and now I get the "Firewall Detected" and I've disabled the Windows Firewall and I even disabled the Symantec Antivirus software and still the LW will not connect! All help is appreciated! |
