I downloaded the beta limewire 4.13.0 from your site but it keeps crashing right when it finishes starting.

So you had been successfully using LW before that. From your details I can say the WRT54g is a trouble-some model with firmware problems. Do you run it port forwarded or in UPnP mode? I'm not too sure why that should affect LW starting up though unless, if in UPnP mode the failure to communicate with & from the router is causing problems with LW crashing.

You're using Java 1.6, do you have any other Java versions on your computer? If yes, I'd suggest removing them. I'm not sure about the present release Java 1.6 but certainly LW would not use the beta version 1.6 if other earlier java versions were on the computer.

Oh I just noticed your crash report. The problem seems to be with Java & it is at least trying to use Java 1.6. I'd suggest removing ALL java versions, rebooting, then reinstall Java 1.6 using the "Offline" installer so you're installing from your computer & not from over the net.

BTW AFAIK Java is used in the UPnP process.

Well I tried uninstalling java 1.6 and using the offline installer and got the same results. I uninstalled and then used the offline installer for java 1.5.0_10 and everything worked fine! Guess Limewire has major problems with 1.6. Thanks for the help.

Arguably Java 1.6 should be better. But different versions of LW & Java seem to behave differently on different people's computers.

Changing compatibility mode to either win 2000 or NT often fixes the problem you're having. Not sure why. Worth trying again.

How about setting up a new user account on your XP system & use a shortcut to the program (no need to reinstall) & see if it runs ok from there.

One odd thing I noticed about your crash log was this:

So for a while there I thought you were running win 98.

BTW you never did say, do you run your Linksys in UPnP or Port forwarding mode? Most people have better success port forwarding with that model due to its firmware issues.

I also noticed 'VM state:not at safepoint (normal execution)'. So are you able to increase virtual memory on your machine?

I don't if this is the place but when i finish downloading a song and i play the song the song comes out sounding out of pitch like if it was totally different. I don't know what the problem is
