Unable to Uninstall Limewire

Recently I had to do a System Recovery on my computer and then when I came back, I decided I don't need Limewire anymore, but for some reason, a file was missing from Limewire so I would get errors saying that I'm missing files and cannot use Limewire.
Also, I cannot delete Limewire because another program seems to be using Limewire. So, I've tried reinstalling Limewire and overwriting the old files and then uninstalling it, but that didn't seem to work. Limewire is still on my computer.
In addition to this, my Windows Task Manager doesn't seem to be working. I'm not sure how to even get the Task Manager to come up, or where I can install a new one.
Thanks for the help.

Hi Celsus: If you want to delete Limewire and can't do it by the Add & Remove section on your computer, then you can try using the Safe Mode, it will delete almost anything that you cannot delete normally. I have used the safe mode quite a few times and it really works good. (~~)

The normal process of uninstalling LW on windows is using the Start menu > Programs > LW > Uninstall. Using the add/remove control panel will not totally remove LW & may cause problems. For Linux however, I don't know how to uninstall it.

But then, I'm wondering why this thread was posted in the Gtk-Gnutella section since it's a totally different program.

BTW when the task manager fails, then points to a virus. Go to NorbiesWorld (click on link) & get him to help you clean your system.

Double-post! Answered here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...tml#post344378 As I said in my above post, Add/Remove control panel is not the correct method of uninstalling LW.
