i recentely got limewire pro and have to be honest i dont see any diffence except the layout of the screen is green.

no matter what i search for i get like 1,000 plus results and the top 900 are always the same(hot babe screen savers, ect.) and i have downloaded stuff and it my antivirus says it detected a trojan.

whats up with that, i thought it was guaranteed not to have all this.

please help....

LW Pro (like basic) has no bundled software (no extras, no malware). But LW can't control what's being shared on the Gnutella network...no Gnutella client can control that.

You have to be careful when downloading. Check file sizes, stay away from the obvious fakes (100 sources, 99 sources etc), avoid exe, zip & rar files.
Add words to your keyword filter to filter out the spam

Don't forget there's a junk filter also you can use. Which is useful for junking all the rubbish under 1,000 KB.

thanks, thats helpfull. its just it doesnt seem any different from the free version.

Pro connects you to 5 ultrapeers instead of basic's 3, so the potential's there for better search results.
You'll also be able to connect to 10 sources for downloading instead of 8 (14 if you have a T3 connection).

People who look for rarer files find Pro better. But if you don't have a fast connection & search for mainstream files you might not see much difference with Pro.
