Sharing Library Across User Accounts in XP

:bangh: Isnt there a way to share one library across different user accounts on the same notebook computer in XP Media Center Edition?

I have a few different user accounts (ALL belonging to myself) and would like whatever I download to be visible in the library, regardless of what account I use.

Call me crazy, but I could swear that when I first installed Limewire on one of my other accounts, when I looked at the library, it WAS shared. Now, maybe because of a configuration setting I changed, the libraries are different in each account, and only show what I downloaded IN that account. Please advise.

Thanks.

Sounds to me Like somthing a spammer would want to do. Many accounts on
one computer will slow uploads to almost nothing like 1kb is that your intention.?

Yes you can. But you need to go to your control panel > I can't remember, I think it's admin > sharing or something like that. You can create a new folder & make any users of your choice have equal access to it. So yes, it can become a common folder. (btw I have prevously listed the steps on the forum so perhaps you could search for it.)

Not sure why you'd have several accounts all belonging to yourself. I have a few purely for experimental reasons when running LW.

Spammer??

Spammer? I have three accounts. One strictly for me (truly a GEEK'S account with a lot of stuff), one set up for my kids (with kid stuff) and one for my wife who only wants to surf the net and email, as simple as possible. Only one person uses the computer at a time so only one person download's at a time. THEY like to see what I've downloaded since they usually like it too. Sorry my reason is so dull.

Thanks, Lord of the Rings. I'll search out your procedure. So, a configuration setting in Limewire is out of the question?

Sorry Michael what you say is great no Question But many accounts in one name !? Just set me thinking, didnt add up in my limeted mind,
Hey sounds like your organised man.
Its not something simple like the windows folder itself has become unshared, just a thought.

Namaste Peace.

Did it!

No problem about the Spammer accusation.

Anyway, thanks to Lord of the Rings' prior posts the problem is solved. The solution is REAL simple and just involves one single Limewire setting. All I needed to do was to make sure the SAME file location to save the music in was entered in all three accounts.

Two libraries on Limeware - Want shared access

I think I have somewhat of a similar dilemna - perhaps not. I use ITunes to download my Limewire library into my IPOD. So does my daughter. The problem is I have two computers and two Limewire libraries that are shared between my daughter and myself. Another problem is that my IPOD for some reason won't access ITUNES on one of the computers - my desktop. However, it works fine on my daughter's laptop. So, what I would like to do is to access my limeware library located on my desktop computer via my daughter's laptop. I'm not sure this is making any sense whatsoever. I've just uninstalled and reinstalled limeway onto her laptop, but don't know how to access the limewire library on my desktop computer - or if that is even possible. If anyone has a clue what I'm trying to do and can advise me, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!
