![]() What AV are you using? Did you check for ad/spyware as well? Just because your AV didn't find a virus/trojan etc doesn't mean that one's not there...sounds to me like you're infected. File types should not change. LW does not change file types. Are you scanning files with your AV before you open them? I'd suggest you go to a help site for this. You may need to post a HijackThis log & we can't read those. See point 5 here for links WARNING: Viruses on the network you should be aware of *(Norbiesworld is no longer providing help, so don't go there) Or try one of these http://forums.spywareinfo.com/index.php?showtopic=79038 spywarewarrior.com http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ We're all volunteers here, the forum has been playing up & some of us haven't been able to log in for almost 24 hours so ******* STOP SHOUTING AT PEOPLE & BE PATIENT ![]() Last edited by birdy; February 9th, 2007 at 03:31 AM. |

![]() Your obvious intention when you made the thread was based on Rudeness when you weren't satisfied with the answers in the other threads on the topic and now your surprised with the reactions? few facts... --about 300 new viruses a week... --heuristic scanning doesn't always detect new virus activity --take on average from 24 to 30 hours for AV detection companies to develop and distribute a new "signature" file that can match the virus and kill it. but None of that happens till the Virus is detected somewhere in the world by MessageLabs consulting group... Your AV not being able to detect a virus is nothing new... You sticking to your guns that it could no way be a virus is moronic... I'm a PC moron, but even i could find that sort of information out for myself.. Safe money is in rereading what Birdy had posted for you... |
