Turning off "info popups"
 

I am not sure what to call them but they are those ANNOYING little boxes that pop up with more info when the mouse hovers over a file name. I am sure there MUST be a way to disable them but I'll be dipped in sheep dip if I can find it. If there is a way would someone be kind enough to tell me how?

Above your search results, there is a green bar with quality, #, name, etc...

Right-click in this area, select 'more options' and uncheck 'extended tooltips'

Thanks for your help. I did that and seems to have solved half the problem. Now some file names do not have tool tips but some do. This is weird.

Is this what's happening...

The name is so long that you can't see it all, it shows the entire name in a popup box? I don't know if you can stop that.

You nailed it with the name length. I right clicked on that bar and turned off everything but name, type, and size. The I minimized bitrate, moved type and size as far to the right as I could and it helped a lot. Of course there will always be file names a half mile long but at least now I know what to look for and I can avoid them.

So now you don't have popups, but you have to find a mousepad that's a half a mile long!
