Default why are my songs playing so fast?

just downloaded about 5 new songs and now my entire library is playing faster than normal and they all sound like daffy duck any ideas anyone ? thanks

Are you using the Limewire player? It isn't very good. I would recommend using another player like Windows Media Player or iTunes. Click tools...options...player and unselect 'Use Limewire Player.'

It's just my guess it might be related to this T3 Spammers; mp3 Bit-Rates Versus File Sizes (click on link). Check the bit rates before downlding.

well ive cleared my entire library, re installed limewire and started again. ive put the speed onto modem as its the slowest and then downloaded patience by take that still running very fast but possibly sounds better!!! tried a few others still playing too fast cant work it out!

I've never had that experience. I've had files with 20 mins of silence. Their bit rate shown by the player was like 32 kbps or something, despite LW showed it as 320 or 190, etc. I see those types of files as another earlier form of fake files. When you do a search, check the bitrates carefully. If you see a file at 4 MB at 192 kbps & another at 4 MB but 320 or something then try downlding both & see which one works properly.
