HELP! I can't uninstall LimeWire
 

I have tryed everything and I am good at computers too. I tryed the add/remove programs and it was not even there. The icon was a no show. I dragged all my LimeWire icons to the trash and it was still in my comp. I just need any help I can get from you all. The reason why I am getting rid of LimeWire is the Trojan Downloaders that keep popping up and get lodged into my comp. :yikes: Then I need to dig them out. Its hard work just owning this slow (explicid) computer. I just really need help. Thank you.

I run LimeWire pro 4.12.3 If that helps at all.

You should have uninstalled LW by using START>Program>Limewire>Uninstall and not by Add/Remove via Control Panel.

Besides, the trojan you mention has nothing to do with LW, it most likely comes with some file you downloaded when using LW.

What you can do now is to search your computer for all files named "limewire" by going to Start>Search>Files and Folders. Delete all files you find.

Then open your registry by Start>Run and typing "regedit". There you go to "Edit>Find" and make also a search with the same query. Delete all keys of limewire.

Afterwards restart your computer and then check your system using any of these programs (I reckon using all of them):
