music skips during playback while searching

anyone else experiance a problem with music skipping and stuttering while a search is in progress. if i am playing a song in winamp and do a search in limewire for music the song playing will skip like crazy until the search has finished. only does it when the searchs are calculating fast. i have a p4 1.5 gighz 256 megs of ram and useing limewire 2.0 and it also did it on previous versions. also running on a cable modem.

Well, I'm having a similar problem with the internal player. Even moving the mouse causes skips.

On the other hand MusicMatch has not skipped reguardless of what I'm doing in limewire.

same problem here.....I have a fast processor and dsl connection...I wonder if someone from Limewire reads these forums and will post a solution....either I will fix this problem soon or I will go back to using another file sharing program....If I can find a solution I will repost here today

same thing here

I am expieriencing the same problem. I have used different search engines, such as gnottela, but I was having a lot of problems with that and so I searched to limewire. I had never before had the music skip so incessantly. when i use the playlist provided by limewire I can barely hear the music and the comp freezes or is real jumpy, I have DSL and a pretty fast modem, I don't know what is going on.
But as one of you mentioned before I have had the same expierience with music match. This program never seems to skip and if it does it is only once or twice.
If anyone figures out a solution or anyone who works here writes us back, that would be great.

Thanks Afisk

I would rather use the limewire internal player if possable......the reason why is because I dont like the default mp3 player poping up every time I play a song....plus I like the playlist feature of the internal player....winamp isnt my default player at the moment it is quicktime player....I know this has nothing to do with the subject but is it just me or is the internet getting so conjested with advertisement pop ups when you are browsing that a person loses intrest in surfing the net anymore. I used to really enjoy just going from page to page just reading, but now I spend most of the time clearing pop ups out of the way ,so what do I do, I just close down my browser and use either a chat program or a file sharing program to entertain myself while on the computer.

As far as the skipping, I definitely recommend turing off LimeWire's internal mp3 player. You can do this in the Tools>>Options... window under "Player." It is very strange that you would hear skipping with a P4 when using WinAmp though. Are you sure you're not using the LimeWire player, and are you sure that the song itself isn't corrupted?

I did as you suggested and voila, music nirvana. Is there a fix for the internal mp3 player?
