Default Problem With A File

i used limewire to download a movie and i think its a virus or something because everytime i try to do anything with the folder where i keep all my music and movies i get all sorts of errors. examples: i try to open the folder to delete the movie and windows has encountered a problem and closes the folder and refreashes the desktop, same thing when i try to delete the folder. then i tried to scan just the folder with avg's virus scan and when i tried to select the folder to be scanned avg gave me an error message about "Something bad happened in the application. Error diagnostic file saved to 'C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\AVG7\avgwb.err' and then avg gets the error message and has to close. if anybody has any ideas plz let me know. now everytime i go through my folders by opening my computer i get the message "windows has encountered a problem and has to close"

There's definatley a corruption in the file, it is quiet common for movie files to do this....
Try going into your limewire library and delete the movie from there, if you cant and limewire gives you the same error message as your shared folder did enter the file name into your computers search and when it finds it delete it from there....
Once you have done this do your system scan and check to see that it wasn't a virus...I've had this happen a few times and it was never a virus, just something faulty with the file...

This is not good....When your limewire tries to load do you get the error at all then ??
If not try deleting your preference folder and see if that will get it opened for you...
Follow the instructions in this thread....

i don't get an error message when i open limewire. i open it then it loads something about html code and then the interface and then suddenly closes. i can't search or go through the folders in "my computer". when i try to search for anything it starts the search and then closes the search window and then refreashes the screen

hmmm...I think it might be best for you to get checked out properly, this doesn't sound like just a corrupted file...

I would do a highjack this log and go to one of these sites for help, their experts in this type of thing and will walk you through a solution...
