Default HELP (my files in library changed to ziped files)

well i know this sound's weird but i am as thrown of as u guyd here,i dont know how i got my self into this but it seems that all my files in my limewire library that used to have the windows media player icon changed to zipped folder icons, and know i cant even hear my music in my windows media player please help.

That's caused by a virus. Scan your computer for viruses. If you don't have a decent AV try AVG free or Avast.

Just one more thing.....

The only AV that has be known to get rid of this virus is AVG, it is free...So if you aren't running that AV the best thing to do is disable the one you have and download AVG, scan your computer, get rid of the virus and then you can unistall AVG and make your normal AV active again...

well first of all thank you guys,and second of all i need to say you were right, last night about 11:00pm p/t i scand my computer for viruses and the scan came back positive for 1 virus, well after i deleted the virus i whent about deleting my cookies and temporary internet files,but now only one thing remains to be solved,i see alot of the similar post like mine dont ask this very important quest, the ? is, how do i go about bringing my music back from those zipped files, in other words how do i convert them back to windows media player files?

You'll probably need a file recovery program. I'm no expert but I don't think your files were converted to zip files. I think they were erased and replaced with zip files that contain the virus. The virus gets spread by replacing the files in it's victims library with copies of the virus. By the time the infected user realizes thay have it they've already shared it with other users.

dam it i knew it whasnt going to be pretty, but oh well i guess ill have to get all of my 180 something songs back and replaced minus well start down-i mean asking people to share their music files with me.
