Shared problem After downloading a JPEG picture, LW crashed. I can't open, edit or whatever has to do with my map 'Shared'. It crashes. LW doesn't start anymore neither. After this, I removes Limewire, because I thought the program was the problem. It wasn't. Limewire doesn't start up anymore, because it tries to do something with shared. I allready scaned 'shared' for virusses, but McAfee plus couldn,t find any virusses. I also tried to get in Shared from an other pc, using my network locations. I can get in Shared, i'm able to see the JPEG file, but can't remove, edit, rename or something else. I've got many files in shared, so I don't want to lose all that. I was able to bkack-up a part allready. It's hard to back-up the things, because I can only back-up it from an other pc. If I try it with this one, the program crashes.:( If anyone knows how I can solve this proplem, Please, help me! (I prefer response in Dutch) I have LimeWire 4.12.11 |
Some ideas to try: 1. Incomplete Download File won't delete at all (click on link) & perhaps also How to take ownership of a file or folder in Windows XP (click link) 2. To use LW again, try deleting your LW prefs folder. Find tips here Fixes for Limewire |
Thanks, but I tried everything, it didn't work. I tried the programs that should remove unremovable files, but those also crashed. I didn't try safe mode, because my pc restarts, when I need to log in in safe mode. I've got all the files that I don't want to lose out of the folder now. So I tried to make a new account, but my files to the new account and delete the old account. It still didn't work! I coulnd't remove my old account. I could give the bug report my computer gives, but it's all in dutch, so I think that's no use. I finally found out what the bug was.. The filename of the file I downloaded had too many characters. I don't know why excacly, but explorer.exe crashed because of it. Thanks for the help anyway |
image shack is used by a lot of spammers so we were forced to censor the site. :( |
