i paid for pro
 

i paid for pro a while back and now all i can get is basic. i had a problem with my computer and had to re-download limewire and now all i can get is basic. does anyone know why, or how i can get my pro back?

Your Pro payment entitles you to free updates for up to 6 months. So, if you bought Pro less than 6 months ago from the official site www.limewire.com then go here & enter the email address that you used to buy Pro.

If you bought Pro more than 6 months ago, or from a scam site, you won't be able to update & you'll have to buy again if you want Pro;)

It's a good idea to always save & back up your Pro installers.

I had the same problem but finally found the correct pro installer. I did however lose the ability to install any of the updates. So even if you are entitled to 6 months of updates you lose them if you have to reinstall. You only get the originol version of pro you paid for.

Your Pro payment entitles you to updates for up to 6 months. You can download whatever stable releases or Beta versions are released within the 6 month period. But it's up to the user to save & back up all installers downloaded...LW doesn't keep a backlog of old installers for download.

Of course you won't be able to download updates after 2 years.

I have the backup's and they do not install as Pro. They won't overwrite as pro either!!!

I'm getting confused now! Have you only bought Pro once, back in 2005? Are you sure that you bought from the official LW site Lime Wire » Official Website & Free Download « ?
In your earlier thread, you said that you've got an update of 4.12.11...that's the latest stable release & if you'd bought Pro from the official site, your updates would've run out around September 2005 (so your last Pro update woul've been around version 4.9.33 or 4.9.34).

It sounds wrong to me, maybe you bought Pro from a scam site?

What updates do you have (what versions)? If they're Pro then they should install as Pro. Sounds like you've got basic installers, rather than Pro.

I installed the wrong version the first time I posted. I found the right file in my backup harddrive, with all the updates that were installed. These being
4.9.33 to 4.12.6-no pack 2. Ranging from Sept. 2005 til June 2006. These are the property dates. I installed 4.12 and did see the newest version which I never saw before I had to reinstall. It didn't install as the pro version though. I have 16 updates none of which will install as PRO.

Ok, sounds like you didn't get an official version of Pro then. If you still have your CC statement, or some payment reciept...have a look & see who the payment was made to. We can't help you with this but maybe whoever you bought from has a support forum or helpline? I don't like your chances, but you never know.

I haven't gone through my bank statements to get the exact date of purchase, this being an on-line purchase. I got the basic version off of C-Net. I'm still being directed to where I purchased this from so is that the scam sight? It directs me here also.

You may have been redirected to the official LW site for download originally. Some scam sites will do that. But they still overcharge for Pro, charge for the free version & offer all kinds of dodgy 'membership' deals.
