Limewire won't open- help?

I've had limewire before with no major problems, but lately limewire just won't open. I've done many virus scans, spyware scans, restarted the computer, uninstalled and reinstalled limewire and it still won't open, does anybody know how to fix this?

wondering why April 30th, 2007 05:46 PM

Firstly just make sure limewire is not still running in your processes in the task manager (ctrl-alt-delete) if it is select the end now option...

If it isn't try these fixes...
Try uninstalling your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE offline version....(4th one down)
Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5

Then uninstall Limewire using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire...then re-install it using the offline installer...

If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder...

OK, I've tried all of that including going to the "Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should" page, I've tried all of that and it still won't work, does anybody know what else to do?

System specs

Here's as many system details that I could figure out, limewire still won't open- so annoying

Windows XP Home edition
114GB Ram (I think)
99 free GB
Permanent connection
Trying to connect from home
I un-installed limewire in hopes of it getting fixed when I re-installed it, didn’t work
ISP: Telus
http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page said, “Your test worked!”
Not sharing connection with any other computers
I’ve used limewire for a while and this hasn’t happened before, but it’s not been working for a few months

Finally, I think it's fixed. I think you were right, it was the java thing, all I had to do was uninstall limewire, uninstall the Java version 6, reinstall limewire and then finally, it opened again! thanks for all of your help!
