I have the same problem...Ive tried everything from reinstalling it to completely redownloading it, as well as redownloading java, but all that happens is the first limewire window pops open for a second but just disappears. |
Could you supply these details please... http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...-you-post.html |

Where are you trying to connect from? my house 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? 4.12.11 and java 6 9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? got me 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? it worked but my limewire still just looks like its opening for about 1 second then closes 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? i have a wireless router that send the connection to another computer 12. ive had limewire for awhile now and it never gave me problems until the other day 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? nope 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? dude idk, all i know s that for some reason limewire doesnt want to open all of a sudden |
Ok a couple of things you can try... Uninstall your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....(4th one down) Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5 If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder... Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should Still no luck...Who is your ISP..(Who do you pay to have your internet ??) |
ahhhhh...yes! thanks man. i tried the older version of java before but made the mistake of saving it to my comp i guess...second time worked... thanks |
Cool...;) |
no need to re install LW ? |
Yep you can, it won't hurt, if you do use the offline installer not the recommended one... |
