Cannot Launch LimeWire

I downloaded and used the free version for a while. worked fine until last night. Then downloaded the Pro version but cannot get it to work. When I get to the point in the installation where it launches LimeWire, I get a "severe" error message.
Using Windows ME on Sony Viao PGC-680. 56K modem.
