Limewire runs on XP Pro, but it crashes Windows Explorer when I access the start menu. I notice the edges of my start menu flicker when I'm running Limewire.

wxp problems

Hi!
I have started to use limewire yesterday o my wxp and it works well... Except processor time consumption. Before I was using gnotella. There was a similar problem and I thought it was a bug. But now with LW it is much worse. Am I doing something wrong way or what? Please help me. I would like to stay tuned on gnutella network, but this problem makes it for me very uncomfortable! Only switching among windows (when LW window is opened) takes at least 0.5 seconds, while before it was done in no time. Games are very slow and I have to turn LW off when I want to play one :-/

You might want to buy more RAM for your computer, that would speed things up a lot! If you have less than 128MB of RAM i suggest buying some more at your local electronics store. OR if your computer is more than 5 years old BUY A NEW ONE. The reason this is uncovered in XP is that XP uses a lot more memory than 95, 98, 98se, me did. But if you have enough memory, it's worth it. Also, upgrade to the latest version of LW

Yes, Limewire has stated that it DOES run on Windows XP offically, however some bugs are present but they do not prevent you from running the program. If you haven't already guessed......

Make sure you are at the latest version of Limewire. I have experienced several different issues with other versions. I have downloaded the newest (free) version with XP, IE 6.0, 600 MHz, 640 MB Ram, 50 GB hard drive and I encounter zero problems with Limewire 2.2.2.

I'm on limewire 2.2.3 pro and it keeps rebooting my computer running windows xp pro after like connecting an hour or so. Anybody has this problem and a fix.
