Invalid save folder LimeWire was working for me fine for months until earlier today. The load screen comes up, but then I get the message that "Your save folder is not valid. It may have been deleted, you may not have permissions to write to it, or there may be another problem. Please choose a different folder." I tried installing the latest version, but I'm still getting the message. And if I can't get LimeWire to start, how do I choose a different folder? |
Try deleting your Limewire preference folder... Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should |
Thanks, I created a the limewire folder in Application Data, and LimeWire seems to be working now. |
I am completely new to this . . . I too have been getting the same message and same problem. Where does one get the answers? Mac os x 10.4.11 |

Invalid on osx would suggest permissions problem. Such as if you were trying to save to the system folder or Library. (1) Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Deleting LW Preferences folder in OSX (2) Set the download location to something like: /Users/your_username/LW Downloads __ or __ /Users/your_username/Shared Personally I save them to a separate drive/partition. |
invalid save file Thanks for the answer Lord o t R. but I have dumped the entire LW application and have the downloads going to my desktop when I try to download a new LW program. I still get the flag saying "your save file is invalid. It may have been deleted or my not have permission to write to it, or there may be another problem. Choose a different folder." |
Well then it looks like you didn't take a word of my advice. lol :D Good luck then. |
