Default wininet.dll error

I was in the process of installing this morning when the installer said I needed a newer version of IE 3.02 or later. I am running XP Pro and IE 6. Why should I need to replace the dll file if it is the latest version of IE?

It's the installers fault .
I know allot of programs that for whatever reason misdetect IE6 .
Mostly because their not updated and don't know that IE6 is out .
And only detect up to IE5 .
Ignore it if it allows you to continue .

If you can't get it to install try this one :
http://users.pandora.be/karel.boonen...s/LimeWire.exe
It is version 2.1.2 with no ads or CyDoor .

The file you suggested installed but it does not run. I get a Runlime.jar error. System say it needs to know the program that created the file. Unfortunately the original error I was getting will not allow me to continue with the install.

I have been using Morpheus but it keeps giving me Java scriting errors and I am getting sick of it.

Thanks for the help and if you have any other suggestions please let me know....

Kevin

You mean the installer gave you this error ?
Then it must be a corrupt download .
Because it is not Windows Installer dependent and does not need a TEMP dir or anything .

If this is an installer error and it is not caused by a corrupt download it's the first time It failed on someones system .

If it is an LW error when you start LW try reinstalling the latest Java runtime .
If you did that already check if the file jawt.dll is present on your system . (Either in the LW , JRE or System dir)
If it is not I'll put a copy in the installer and pload it again .

BTW wich Windows version are you using ?
