Default Limewire and Multiple Users on WinXP

I have WinXP Professional set up for multiple users.

I installed LimeWire Pro when I was logged on as the user, and everything works fine.

But when tried to create a shortcut under my wife's user logon, the Limewire program group didn't even appear under Start|All Programs.

(The LW program group IS there when I'M logged on as the user.)

How can I create a Limewire shortcut on my wife's desktop, when she's logged on?

if you had admin rights and installed limewire as yourself, it shouldn't show up under her name. You will have to go to your desktop and right-click, click on shortcut and browse to the Limewire exe file under program files....that is usually the way that win2000 and winxp operate.

Default XP Pro - Multiple users

Right click and copy the limewire shortcut (icon) on your desktop.

Open windows explorer, then paste the shortcut into your wife's desktop directory. It should be located at:
c:/documents and settings/your wife's account name/desktop

tech note from faq:
LimeWire is a java based program, and is run by the executable javaw.exe. The proper way to launch LimeWire is with the shortcut provided on the desktop or in your programs menu. If desired, advanced users can create a Windows batch file that can be used to launch LimeWire. Furthermore, double clicking on the file RunLime.jar will launch LimeWire if your system is configured to associate the file extension .jar to Java.

Angry XP Pro, Limewire, and Multiple users

I'm having trouble setting up Limewire for multiple users, as well. I created the menus/desktop shortcut. Other users can start Limewire, connect to other hosts, but cannot download anything. No errors are generated, but no file is ever transferred, either!

All users have to be granted writing permissions to the limewire shared folder.
