Limewire keeps playing songs after I close out of it

OK, I have two thoughts.

First, is that your not really closing out LW, your just minimizing it to the toolbar.

If you open LW and go into the options, you can set your shutdown preferences. Open LW and go to Tools>Options>System Tray, then select which "Shutdown Behavior" you'd like. Then click OK>Apply.

Or just right click on the icon in the toolbar and click "Exit".



Second, would be that the file is playing in another player and not the LW player.

If it is playing in a different player, just shut down that player.

Well, i know that i didnt minimize it, i closed it. And for sure its not another player because i didnt have anything open at all. im going to try the thing u with the shutdown preferences

Yeah, check the preference setting. What's probably happening is that your clicking the X to close it out, but your preferences are set to "Minimize To System Tray".
