mpg files won't play in any player Hello, none of my mpg movie files will play at all. i used to be able to see them but now i can't. i tried different players (windows media, DivX, etc.) i even downloaded some Vista Codecs pack but still cant see and mpg file. i have Windows Media player 11, if that makes any difference. i can, however, view all other movie files (avi). Please HELP!!!! |
One post about the topic is enough. :) Then try VLC .. if it cannot play the file then it is probably bogus: VLC - (click on link) _ (choose nearest mirror site). VLC player has codecs built-in. ;) The files in question if mpeg might be some variation of MPeg 4. Though normally mpeg 4 uses mp4 extension, it may also show as mpg or mpeg. |
great, thanks!!! the VLC worked, its playing the files... but I still cant burn them.. none of my DVD burning programs will read these mpg files... what can I do about that? |
Get one that does. :) I'm not a windows user per se, I use a mac. There is a trialware or shareware version burner listed here CODECs list for Movies/Alternate players / Video help forums might be worth trying out. :) |
