2 copies saved, why???? when i download a video from limewire it saves 2 copies. any idea what is going on? |
Where are the files saved? One will go to your saved folder - don't know why there'd be another one. AFAIK you can only have 1 saved folder. |
they are going to the default location. when i check the properties of both files, they both say they are saved in the same location. its weird, when i right click and hit delete, they both are deleted. i guess maybe it is just 2 shortcuts it is saving. its is aggravating with 2 of each in a list. |
One in Saved files folder & one in Shared? Same folder? At least for prior versions of LimeWire, both saved & shared were same thing, but LimeWire used both references in the Library window for different purposes since not everyone shares all the files they download. |
no, they are both in shared. i just loaded frostwire and removed limewire and it did the same thing. it has to be a windows issue. keep in mind, i am computer dumb as can be. |
Is it only video files that are saved twice? How about music files? You shouldn't be seeing shortcuts in your saved or shared folders... should be the whole file. Are you looking in your saved & shared folders within LW's library? If that's where you're looking, then you're not actually seeing 2 copies of the same file - you're just seeing a file that's saved to your computer which appears in 2 places in LW's library. LW's library doesn't actually contain any files - it just reflects what you have in LW's saved, shared & incomplete folders... eg if you've chosen to share your saved folder then whatever's in the folder that LW saves to on your HDD will show up in LW's library when you click on Saved Files & also when you click on Shared Files. Go to LW's library, click on Shared files... highlight a movie file & click Explore. Now your shared folder will open outside of LW. Are the files saved twice within that shared folder? |
