Default LW / map drive issue

Here is the setup:
I own a laptop and a PC, and flip between them often. So the majority of my data is kept on a simple windows 2000 file server tucked in a closet in my house.

I have a drive setup on this server only for storing my MP3's.
We will call it my y:\
and I am mapped to it.

I can open Itunes and access all the mp3's just fine, I open LW and adjust my options and shared things to point at the y:\
However, I never get a library listing in LW.
This is a BIG problem for me...
The collection is too large to be making a copy local to the laptop and PC.

I also have a question about the directory structure, I allowed Itunes to organize it, so it did so in this order:
<Artist>/<album>/<filename>

What directory structure is LW looking for? All in the root? Can it see into subdirectories?

Come on... Nobody???

I am even willing to purchase this software if you can get it working...
Without being able to see my library this really is useless to me...
Please I want to get this going...

I also have iTunes structure my music but I'm on mac osx.

You need LW 4.18.8 or 5 & iTunes 7.11.1 or 8. Otherwise LW's Library on DAAP will not work with iTunes. (Apple seemed to change the way iTunes' DAAP worked in v.7)
You will also need to have iTunes set to look for shared libraries; Edit menu > Preferences > Sharing. And you could check both options.
And in LW's settings, you need to have Tools > Options > iTunes set to 'Share My Music'

Only other alternate would be to use iTunes 6. However going backward in iTunes versions has its own headaches with personal library settings.

Thanks for the reply...

I am running LW v5, and iTunes 8, needed that to update my touch.
Changed the setting that you suggested, and restarted both apps, however still no library...

I am not so sure that going backwards is the answer, 'cause I am not so sure iTunes v6 supports the touch...

LW does not like to share a drive...

on my y:\ I created a folder called MUSIC, moved ALL my music into that folder, updated the options in LW, and BINGO!!!

Thank you for your time...
