limewire pirated edition starting problems! I have installed java 1.7.0.17 a few days ago and when I try to start limewire 5.6.2 pirated edition it says that I need Jave 6.0 or above. can someone fix this? |
Did you use the LW-Java shortcut installer? ;) http://www.gnutellaforums.com/window...installer.html This will create shortcuts to the necessary file that works in Java 7. So you will then see shortcut to LW in start menu and wherever you choose that actually works. Choose the option in the installer that matches your version of LPE. If the shortcuts are simply named LimeWire then it was File_Girl's version of LPE. Otherwise if the shortcuts are called LimeWire 5.6.2 then it was the original Metapirate version of LPE. :) |
hey am having the same problem i just uninstalled lpe. now what needs to be done which version sorry to ask what you have already answered but your answer went a lil over my head. i did have file gurls version if that matters. |
Either version. If you re-downloaded via one of the links on the forum then it would already be packaged with a LW-Java7 shortcut fix installer. Otherwise you can get one from here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/window...installer.html :) The shortcut fix installer has been customised depending on whether you install the original LPE or File_Girl's LPE because her LPE used shortcuts simply called LimeWire. File_Girl told me back in December she redid the LPE installer with the shortcut built-into the installer but it seems she did not host it anywhere. I haven't seen it and it's not linked to in her original LPE post. |
Thanks ill try it tonight |
ok i dl'd it but it isn't connecting. xp lpe with shortcut fix it says no internet connection but is actually dling files.. what am i missing? |
Ignore the message on the front window when you first open the program after installing. The main window previously connected to the LW site but it can no longer, so gives an erroronomous message about connection. If the connection bars bottom left corner are blue then all is good. Otherwise you may need a fresh connection file. Get the connectfix installer from here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html BTW it is possible to download whilst not connected to the network. A little known fact. :D (LW tries to download from the previously known hosts, so becomes a direct connection to them.) |
thanks ill try it now.. it is the connection at the bottom left corner that says no internet connection. i am also uploading files at this time. I will let you know what i come up with. It looks like your post count did a rollover @ 100k? I had a 73 Beeatle that did the same trick :) |
