![]() Hi, In LimeWire Pro V4.12.3, you can direct where you want the files downloaded using LimeWire Pro to be stored and it is possible to direct the path directly into iTunes. In iTunes, under "edit," I have already gone to "preferences" and then to "advanced" and checked the box that states "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library". I don't want dual saved files in a shared file and in iTunes and I would prefer not to have to open the file but have it open automatically and show in the iTunes library. If the path for saving downloades utilizing LimeWirePro is directed into iTunes, will it automatically open in the iTunes library? Up until now, I have been storing the downloads in the shared file and utilizing the "control o" command and highlighting the name and clicking open. How would this be done if directing the file to the iTunes location instead? I don't want downloads stored twice and use double the hard drive space. I'm also not sure that if the path in LimeWirePro V4.12.3 is directed into iTunes, how will I actually open up the download or will it be automatic. Apple tech support recommending saving the content in one location and making the iTunes the default player for audio files which also is checked, along with organizing the files. I'd just like to use the LimeWire Pro as the downloading interface and automate the rest. Assistance would be greatly appreciated... Thanks all... ![]() Ok You're on Windows XP. It is possible to save the files to your "iTunes Music Folder". If you order your folder by "date added" you can then select all the new tunes ... listed together.. and add them to your iTunes Library, and if you have selected for iTunes to automatically sort your tunes by name artist ec, it will do this. and you will have just the one copy of each file You do however afaik need to open the folder to select the tunes to add them to iTunes library. I asked if you were using a Mac as if you were you could have the songs loaded into iTunes automatically. I am told that saving songs to your iTunes folder can cause problems, but I am not sure why it should, and with Mac it certainly does not. This Sticky thread will be of interest:- http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=36230 If you have any more queries please direct them to the thread by clicking "post reply" |

![]() The easiest way is: For fast & easy access, go to your LW Library window, select Saved Files folder & press the Explore button. Sample image here: Using Library Explore button to access downld folder (click on link) & the folder will open up for you. Select all the songs (whilst holding down the SHIFT key to select multiple files at once). They drag & drop onto the Library icon at the top of the iTunes playlists. That will copy all songs to iTunes library folder. Take a note of how many files you select before you add to iTunes. If any are not added, then you need to ascertain whether they are mp3pro (iTunes can't play mp3pro.) Or whether they had been previously added. iTunes will "not" re-add any song if it's been added before & no mp3 id3 tag details have changed. Once added & confirmed, then you can delete the files out of the LW downld folder. BTW I also share my iTunes library, but due to its size, only parts at a time. (Reason is related to the OSX Java VM problem issues & thus limitations on what users can do!) ![]() ![]() |
