Question What does the '#' symbol really represent?

Hi - I'm new to Limewire, so my first question is probably a bit simplistic...

I wondered if someone could tell me what the '#' symbol actually represents. According to the FAQ/Help pages it is the number of identical files, which I presumed meant the number of on-line users (hosts) that had that file.

But if I right click on the file name I can choose to 'browse host'. If #=25, say, how does it decide which of the 25 hosts to browse?

Thanks. MLS
