I purchased my daughter an ipod nano. We went ahead and downloaded songs from LW and they automatically went into itunes, she updated and all was fine the songs went onto the ipod. Now today she downloaded a few more and we can't get it to do anything and all of the previous songs are gone. ( all playlists, saved songs, purchased songs etc.)we downloaded all the songs again and they went to compaq-owners limewire playlist but we cannot get them to the library. We tried dragging them that doesn't work. we tried importing them no luck. We get an unknown error. We tried saving them nothing happens. before when she hit the update from all libraries and playlists it just did it! For some reason I turned the computer on this morning and it had some kind of code type wording so I called the support for my computer and they had me factory restore the computer and said that it could have been the ipod that did it??? My daughter isn't too sure she really wants an ipod after all. I am just coming here for some help since I am pretty computer illiterate and just trying to help my daughter get to enjoy her hard earned ipod. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I tried the help sections in ipod and LW but it is way over my head. Simple step by step instructions would be great from start to finish. Oh yes my computer is a compaq running windows xp, Itunes 6... and LW 4....Thank you

Thank you so much. I had read that post already but it seemed all foreign to me. I went back and went through it again. and ahah I wasn't dragging and dropping properly. My daughter is in ipod heaven now! Another question though can I delete the songs from LW now that they are in the itunes library or will it delete them too? Again I can't thank you enough for pointing me in the right direction.

After importing my recent downloads to I Tunes all my other music has gone except for the new downloads. I cant find the music , can anyone help?

tinkadoo go to LW Library window & select incomplete folder & press Explore button. The folder will open for you & you can delete only those song files you know are definitely in iTunes Music Library.

lostmusicman don't get confused by the LW playlist you see in iTunes. That is simply a playlist for the songs that still remain within the LW download folder. What you need to do is properly add the songs to iTunes so they're added to iTunes Music Library; How to transfer music to my iPod (& iTunes)

If you deleted your other music before doing this, then you could try using a file recoverer or redownload. Learn how to use iTunes by seeing the tutorial videos.

thanks for the reply , but its all the music in itunes I have lost. I had about 3000 songs 2 days ago now I only have the 30 odd I downloaded from LW. Everything was fine until I started using LW.

Have you used your computer's search to look for one of the lost file names? If you haven't deleted them, they've got to be around somewhere
