Arrow I Cannot Get The Red Bars In The Bottom Left To Fill Up To More Than One Bar

I CANNOT GET THE BARS IN THE BOTTOM LEFT CORNER TO FILL UP TO MORE THAN ONE BAR AND I HAVE A FIRE WALL LOGO NEXT TO IT AND I HAVE TRIED EVERY THING. WHEN I SEARCH IT SAYS "LIMEWIRE IS CURRRENTLY CONNECTING TO THE NETWORK YOUR SEARCH MAY NOT RETURN MANY RESULTS UNTIL YOU ARE FULLY CONNECTED" I HAVE TRIED TO LEAVE IT FOR A WHILE BUT IT WILL NOT GAIN ANY MORE BARS. (I AM CONNECTED AS IT SAYS UNDER FILE THAT DISCONNECT IS THE ONLY ONE I AM ABLE TO SELECT)

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some details of your set up would help. Start here for answers: Connection problems? Check here first! (click on link) as your problem might be either or both your softw firewall &/ your modem/router internal NAT firewall.

It's not that bad really!! It looks more complicated than it is. Start by doing this test & see if it works
http://www3.limewire.com:6346

Make sure you're only using 1 software firewall & set it up to allow LW. There are instructions for the most common firewalls here
Firewall setup

Now what are your details?

OS(Win XP etc)
LW & Java version (help > about LW & you'll see)
Firewall you're using
Modem/router brand & model
ISP
Connection type (DSL etc)
Where you connect from (home, school etc)
Are you sharing a connection with other computers
Is this your first try with LW

I'm using Windows XP
I'm using Java 2 Rumtime
I have a Motorola SB4200 SurfBoard Cable Modem
A D-Link 802.11g Wireless Router
Wireless Connection, but technicly its Cable Modem
I connect from home
I do share a wireless connection with my brother's laptop, and my sister's desktop.
And No this isn't my first try with limewire, I've been using this for about a year now. I know why this happened it's a long stoy but I'll tell you. Just recently I had gotten an Xbox 360, and decided I wanted to hook up to Xbox Live, but It would be way too much work to run a Ethernet cable from my den all the way here in my room so I bought a wireless ethernet bridge. I tried hooking it up but still I had problems with it, so I called microsoft, and they told me to configure some things and do a power reset on my Wireless Router and Cable Modem. So I did, nothing worked, then they told me to call D-Link. D-Link didn't tell me much of anything except how a few things work so they told me to call microsoft back, I called microsoft still nothing, then they told me to call my ISP and and get a newIP adress. So I did, that didnt work, so I ended up calling microsoft backand saying still nothing. So then they told me I had to call D-Link and configure my Firewall with my router. But ever since then I couldn't because D-Link's been closed for the holiday weekend, So then me and my brother said we didn't want to wait and tooled with the firewall ourselfs, and I blame it on that stupid peice of **** from Microsoft told me to get a new IP adress from my ISP and ever since then my whole internet's been jacked up. It really ****** my off and I'd beat the crap out of whoever told me to do that I need help, but help from someone who knows wht they're doing not some stupid dude that dropped out of high school you what I'm saying?

Well I dropped out of university after completing 4 qualifications so I guess that counts me out.

If you want high tech support, I suggest you go to such a site. There's plenty around.

Wireless devices have internal NAT firewalls. So to use such a one with LimeWire, you have the option of enabling UPnP or else, forwarding (opening) a port. Check under the UPnP section of the link I gave above for D-Link devices.

mr.texas25 is a great assister to others; your light through the dark tunnel
Default Simple answer to your problem

Follow these 3 easy steps:

1. Uninstall limewire
2. Delete folder C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Limewire
3. Reinstall limewire, this will definately work for you guys.

The trick is deleting the Limewire Application Data folder. If you cant find it, do a seach for limewire on your computer. Once it shows the files and folders, delete the Lime wire application data folder.
