Some details of your set up would help. Start here for answers: Connection problems? Check here first! (click on link) as your problem might be either or both your softw firewall &/ your modem/router internal NAT firewall. |

It's not that bad really!! It looks more complicated than it is. Start by doing this test & see if it works http://www3.limewire.com:6346 Make sure you're only using 1 software firewall & set it up to allow LW. There are instructions for the most common firewalls here Firewall setup Now what are your details? OS(Win XP etc) LW & Java version (help > about LW & you'll see) Firewall you're using Modem/router brand & model ISP Connection type (DSL etc) Where you connect from (home, school etc) Are you sharing a connection with other computers Is this your first try with LW Last edited by birdy; July 3rd, 2006 at 09:26 PM. |

Well I dropped out of university after completing 4 qualifications so I guess that counts me out. If you want high tech support, I suggest you go to such a site. There's plenty around. Wireless devices have internal NAT firewalls. So to use such a one with LimeWire, you have the option of enabling UPnP or else, forwarding (opening) a port. Check under the UPnP section of the link I gave above for D-Link devices. |

you count, at least you sound like you what your talking about, that Upnp thing is way too complicated for me though I need you to clarify it a much a you could in a list of things to do. this is tearing me apart man I seriously need all the help I could get. |

Simple answer to your problem Follow these 3 easy steps: 1. Uninstall limewire 2. Delete folder C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Limewire 3. Reinstall limewire, this will definately work for you guys. The trick is deleting the Limewire Application Data folder. If you cant find it, do a seach for limewire on your computer. Once it shows the files and folders, delete the Lime wire application data folder. Last edited by mr.texas25; August 3rd, 2008 at 12:06 AM. |
