how to change file from mp3 to wav i need to make a cd for cars and mp3 files wont work in the car how do i change my settings to wav and how do i change the songs i have downloaded already to wav please help aim: preppyaekid |
Many car CD players (more-so older ones) don't especially like CD-r disks. But moreso the problem is burn speed. Make sure you burn the audio cd at minimum speed. If you're using a high-speed disk, then instead, get one of the slow burning (well known brand) ones. These tend to do best on car CD players. Most older car cd players will NOT play cd's burnt as mp3 disks. So be aware of that. Find what your car cd player can play! Most players like Nero & Roxio will convert your mp3's to CD format. You just need to make sure of your settings. If necessary, Audacity, a FREE audio editor will open & save to both mp3 & wav & ogg formats: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/windows.php Be sure you burn to CD-R & not CD-RW disks, as i'm not sure how many if any car cd players can play cd-rw disks! ;) |
how do i change my files to wav;??? i know that will work! my moms friend burns cds for her and thats the kind of files he uses |
you don't need to convert to wav ... but that depends upon your burner. The best ones will do their own conversion during the burn process. But the link I gave above is the "free" step to converting to WAV format!!! ;) |
ok im goin to download it! i hope its not confusing thanks for your help |
now how do you use the program? |
i have Roxio!!! so how do i convert it? |
roxio will convert them by themselves (mp3's) during the burn process. roxio is generally very reliable for converting such. Drag & drop your song-files (mp3's) into roxio audio interface, select Cd as output, & press burn. A 650 MB disk can hold 74 mins 14 secs of music maximum. A 700 MB disk can hold about 79 mins 54 secs maximum!!! If you want to learn how to use Audacity, then go back to the site & download the manual. The manual, program, plug-in enabler & 3rd party plug ins are separate downloads. |
BTW within Audacity, all you need to do is open the file, then go to File->Export to WAV! :D |
