Default Transferring movies to DVD

I have never done this before and I got as far as downloading the movie from Limewire. I can't play it on my computer and I can't seem to transfer it to a cd. I searched other links and tried what was suggested, but it just doesn't work for me! I have Nero and when I tried to burn the movie as a VCD I get this message "files could not be added to a compliation. Unsupported file format." What do I have to do? To play the movie on my computer what do I have to do? I had read about getting a "codec" but what is that and which one do I use? Thanks for any help you can give me. I had a dvd/cd rw drive installed and I don't know how to use it!!!!! lol

Unfortunately I am a little computer illiterate. I downloaded the movie with a .mov ending. Do I need to change it? I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing.

Firstly to veiw your movies you need to install the corrct codecs for your player...Or you can get VLC it has all the codecs already installed to play your files...
This thread has a list of what you need....

I dont use Nero so I cant advise you on using it, I do however use Dvdsanta, it converts all files to dvd format and then burns them for you...
This is the link to the site if you want to check it out http://www.dvdsanta.com
BTW I found some info on .mov files supplied by LOTR....
Beware of .mov files if they are less than 100 MB as they are probably porn spam.
