yes i did download it from www.limewire.com/ but now i am downloading it from the same site again,but with the offline installer. is that a bad idea?

No, this is actually a good idea. I would reckon using only offline installers for installations.
But make sure that you have also the newest Java installed (in case you haven't, uninstall the old one and install the new one using the JRE offline installer before installing LW):
