Download Doesn't Work Recently, I had uninstalled limewire to clear more diskspace, now I have reinstalled it. Now I note that it is not working as before. (I had downloaded only one file last time I used it, so still I am not well versed with limewire). This time, after reinstallation, limewire is getting connected, opening searches easily, but now clicking "download" doesn't start download. Even clicking the "browse hosts" results in opening a new tab with more search results but no downloads from there too. I have windows xp sp2 with AVG antivirus and zonealarm firewall (windows firewall disabled). Now installed limewire version is 4.12.3, downloaded from www.download.com. I am using DSL internet connection with speed 64kbps. I have gone through the previous forum threads but have not found similar problem with anyone. Port 6346 test worked. I hope that I have permanently allowed limewire in zonealarm (during installation). Clicking download button only selects it until left mouse button is kept pressed. No error message has appeared so far. The only file I have downloaded with last installation is about 3.8 mb and antivirus/antispyware screening doesn't report any problem. Can anyone there please guide me to an early solution for this problem? I would highly appreciate if I get a link to this thread in my email box too. Sincerely, :) |
It sounds like it could be a lisencing issue... Go to Tools > options > searching > show lisence warning untick that box and select apply.....;) |
Can search, can't download I have also problems downloading. Searching files runs perfectly, but they don't download although I have already changed my firewall settings  . The download starts always with: awaiting sources and ends after a while with something like "can't download". Can anyone help me?? Limewhere says "your connection to the network is very strong", but it seems that I can't get connection with other users... |
need more sources??? i have tried to download several of songs but none of them seem to get passed "need more sources". this is so frustrating, can anyone help me? |
If you're trying to downld copyright files ... you may find you get high search results such as 100 or one, 99 or next, 98 ... etc. in the search results under the # column. But those will most likely be fake file results spammed from Overpeers. The best idea in that case is to choose those results further down the results page that have only 10 or 20 or so sources under the # column. |
