Default Questions on How File Downloads

Hi everyone when I go to download a file it cant get passed Connecting. My question is, is my computer even talking to the server or is one of those fake server things i have been hearing about?

LW doesn't have a central server, you're connecting to other computers.
Sounds like you're trying to download a fake file. These things will never connect.

Search again. Try the All Types category as well as the more specific ones. Vary your search terms - look for artist, album, actors' names etc. Stay away from files with huge numbers of sources, try a file with 10 sources or less.

Why would someone put up a fake file? And ill try that out thanks. Is that a good thing that its fake?

I guess these fakes are supposed to discourage people from using p2p, by making it more difficult for people to use the apps

Wow thanks for all of this help Birdy I never expected it. But one last quwstion i read those lins and it says the music goverment thing records ips? Is hat bad? Or am I fine cause it never got passed connecting?
