I don't know about Morpheus, but Limewire is purely a tool to connect two or more users of the gnutella nework, and as such there is no central server to verify files.

There is a sticky above many of the forums about viruses on the network and it is worth looking at that and to scan any files you are in the slightest doubt about.

The quality stars refer to the likelyhood of a download working and how well, rather than the file itself, and personally I ignore them

Some mp3 files appear to be good in size and everything else, but are in fact often purely URLs to music sites that charge. The latest, 4.12.x versions of Limewire, will not connect to these. There are many bad files on the network, and if any have a very small size they are probably Trojans. These are mentioned in the sticky about viruses.

Re: the number of results. Many files show up with multiple sourses, and the number is shown in the left hand column. Add these all up and you should get your 362 or what ever number you see.

If you see a file with a large number of hosts... 50 - 100 or more for instance, it is likely to be a bad file ... a URL, a trojan, or simply a block of non working results designed to block up the network.

I hope this helps. I don't want to sound as if I'm trying to put you off. A little bit of experience has taught me what to avoid, and the majority of my downloads are good. Just be careful, and don't assume everything is totally safe.
