Exclamation Limewire A Scam??? Human Help Please

Ok here's the deal, about a month ago I purchased lime wire pro or what I believed to be . While I was going thru the motions to wit.. lifetime membership and an options for DVD something or other, which I purchased as well but I haven't even seen anything on my computer about lime wire. All I have seen immediately after completion of purchase is Frostwire. why have I not seen anything about limewire at all. Did i mess up or did I get scammed because I've been able to get some tunes no video at all so I'm wondering why I spent $ 30.00 on crap that I could of received for free. Did I not validate or something because i went to limewire site to download and it prompts saying I need to buy it again. IS THERE A CONTACT # or something because I have proof of the withdrawal from my bank account. Please if anyone who works for lime wire or knows someone who does please help me get out of the "DOG HOUSE" with my wife. Any help in resolving this quagmire I've gotten myself into would be GREATLY APPRECIATED

Sounds like you got scammed; there is no "life membership" with LW. Read here:

You were scammed
LW basic is free, FW is free too. LW Pro costs $18.88 USD which covers you for 6 months of updates & email support.
The only official site for LW is www.limewire.com

If you buy from any other site, you risk being ripped off & possibly downloading a version of LW with spy/adware. Have a look through the 2 threads below...the first has general info/scam sites etc & the second has some info about how users have been able to get a refund from scam sites

You should contact your bank/CC company & ask them to cancel the transaction! They probably have a department to deal with scams/fraud.

Gnutella is the name of the network which LW & other p2p apps connect to... not the official site for download. Believe it or not, you were scammed.
If you'd bought LW from the official site, you'd see LIMEWIRELLC on your statement.

For starters, do report it to your bank or CC company (depending on how you paid)...they might still be able to cancel the transaction or take some action if you explain the situation. Also have a read through that thread I left about other people getting their money back. If you have a contact for the scam site (email add, phone number, live chat link etc) then you might be able to get in contact with them. Was there any mention of a "refund within X days if you're not happy"...some of these sites offer this.

Hi y'all well this hick made some head way today thanks to Birdy and the thread he sent me to and that leads me to thankin' that Edge fella.
Well wouldnt ya know that it was them [MP3 DOWNLOAD FELLAS, and boy they seem real popular when it comes down to stealing other peoples hard earned money.
I'm not as computer savvy as Edge but I told this John ,fella {employee of said thievin' *******s} I told him basically the same stuff as edge except if i didnt have a full reund within 48hrs I was going to call the FCC and the FBI and I told him that I wasnt the only one and there was awhole bunch of willin to do all it takes to put you outta buisness if you dont act accordingly.anyways i just wanted to thank you all and that I have learned alot the last couple of days .I just wished there was a way to warn other people before they get scammed to and you would think that google would not have these fellas at the top of their list >thanks one and all!! Its nice to know the world is'nt a total loss
