Default ipod video question - help

I can't get any tv shows to download from Limewire onto my new video ipod. What am I doing wrong? Sorry if this is a repost but I can't find the answer.

There's some video info in the sticky below
Transferring music to iPod & iTunes

Your files will have to be in either mpeg4 or H.264 format.
If you're still stuck after reading the sticky, use the forum search too look for video to iPod...you'll probably find a few more threads.

Default I am not an ipod expert

and unfortunately that meant nothing to me. I know how to download tunes to my pod but not videos. Anyone?

I'd give the same answer. You put the videos in iTunes where they will probably play, but to load on to an iPod they must be the formats that birdy said. More information IS in the sticky she gave the link to .. see post 14 .. click on videos to itunes ipod. It's a little old but still makes sense

OK, all of the files are avi and apparently this isn't compatible with ipod? So how do I convert them. Remember, I am totally clueless........

There are different converters you can use. I've used both 3GP & Videora. I like 3GP best, it's really easy to use. Click on the links below for some more info.
