javaw.exe; firewalls; connection problems. I've just installed Limewire and, being on a university network, I'm behind an obscene number of firewalls. I have followed the steps for adding a port on the network connections on Windows XP, and so on, and I think that it's now ZoneAlarm that might be causing the problem (the problem being that I can open LimeWire but the connection status is perpetually on the first bar and no searches yield any results). The trouble with this is that ZoneAlarm instructions on Limewire involve enabling an application called "javaw.exe". At no point have I been asked to enable access for this program by ZoneAlarm; nor does it appear on the "Programs" tab in the ZoneAlarm Control Centre. I have a feeling that I might be missing something here... can anybody help? |
