ok,,,downloaded basic,,,thers a box that appers saying limewire is connecting,,,,nothing else,when search for songs,,no listingsin main frame,,although the artist name seems to be loading,,,what to do??

Start off by making sure that you're only using 1 software firewall & that it's configured properly.
Read the sticky below, it has lots of advice for connection problems. LW won't be able to search well until it has a reasonable connection.

My lime wire has gone belly up too. I have the latest version and was Ok 'til about three days ago. My firewall refuses to budge. My internet connection is fine/Ive checked my port/added Gnutella and lime wire to my exceptions list/ switched it opn and off till I am blue in the face and tried that connection recommended by Birdy.
And I m still told I have a firewall on or no internet connection?

Any ideas
